Jesus said, “Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” A serious consideration of just how weak the flesh is in light of all the different temptations that a Christian can face from the world, the flesh and the devil is extensive and sobering, but the one I want to focus on in this article is not only extremely subtle but, in essence, idolatrous. Proof of that is how well-received this mesmerizing, beguiling, and addictive temptation is to both unbelievers and believers alike, which, with the help of the Holy Spirit, I will try to explain.
The truth is, this insidious temptation didn’t suddenly appear and slam into the earth like a meteorite to gain the attention of all mankind; rather, it slithered into the Garden of Eden and uttered the most beguiling and sought-after goal in the entire Universe, “ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil”. (See Genesis 3:5.) Consider the advantages of being a god! Power, and not just localized power, but the power to control and rule the world; power to demand worship; and the power to control, kill and destroy, and all of this because of your enhanced ability to “know.”
Pride and power are a dangerous combination and especially so when embodied in an evil being such as Satan. The Bible tells us much about him from Genesis to Revelation, yet few pay serious attention to what we are told about him in these end days even though much of the incredible advancements in the scientific realm are the direct result of satanic communications to certain inventors with an evil agenda for mankind. (The late Christian cult/occult expert, Dave Hunt, exposed this fact in some of his books.) The bottom line is, the imaginations, inventions and incremental encroachment of artificiality into the lives of living, breathing human beings must be properly discerned by God’s people for the demonic and idolatrous peril that it is.
This is where our discernment needs to be fine-tuned and not generalized just because “everybody else” may have it, use it, depend on it, like it, or believe what it communicates. So, setting all else aside, meaning that which are, on the surface, obvious benefits it provides that are not intrusive, suggestive, compulsive, or coercive, let’s zero in on the heart of the matter and expose the original goal of its creation and consequently how dangerous it is, and how idolatrous it is, culminating in the very real act of blasphemy to the Holy Spirit.
To back up a little, when did this obsession with “artificiality” begin? Only God knows, but I’ve watched it grow and expand like black mold in a dark attic for decades. Just to stir up your remembrance of former years with simple examples, how about artificial flavors? Whatever that “artificial flavor” actually was, we didn’t pay it much attention if it made our popsicle, ice cream, artificially colored sugary cereal, soda pop, condiments or whatever else we popped into our mouths taste good. Incrementally, “artificial flavoring” became big business as increasingly toxic stuff that tasted good ended up on grocery store shelves and into our bellies. Because we were fooled into believing that the government truly cared for each and every one of us, and wanted us to be healthy and happy, we went glibly along with each advancement of artificial “food” that came along. A sad note to add to this subject is the fact that most pet food, especially from China, is not real food but rather recycled cardboard and paper products. Needless to say, the results of this are devastatingly heart breaking because all living things need “real” God-given food in order to survive.
When the health of the masses began to deteriorate as an expected result, along came the FDA “approved” supplements and health aids by the truckload. Let me be clear, we have benefitted much from herbs and other supplements, but we do our best to make sure the source is real and not artificial! The problem is, we have been deprived, in public education, of the importance of being taught about natural, God-given, holistic healing and basic, factual science. This was not the kind of “knowing” the enemy wanted us to know, because his goal is to “steal, kill and destroy” (see John 10:10).
Other sources of artificiality are fake “perfumes” and “fragrances” in candles, air fresheners, laundry products, soap, cosmetics, and so forth. It’s all toxic, but people never stop to think it through and check out the source of such products, so they blindly trust the manufacturers and the government and buy the lie and continue to poison themselves.
Let’s face it, even most of our clothes, including footwear, are made of artificial fabrics, and even that can hinder our well-being. So, having said all that, I’m sure by now you can think of scores of healthy and beneficial products people used to have that have slowly disappeared and been replaced by artificial, and downright “cheap” construction. Even garish toys for impressionable children have taken on a demonic character in their unrealistic, often frightening, and just plain ugly appearance. Very little these days that is made for children is sweet, innocent, comforting, natural, beautiful, morally pure and basically safe and non-threatening in some way.
I would venture to say that the “frosting on top of the artificial cake,” so-to-speak, is sheer propaganda from the social and mainstream news media, and movie industry. All have been powerful purveyors of conditioning, brainwashing and destroying impressionable young minds, along with not a few older minds that should know better. Adding the artificiality of millions of fables, tales, soap operas, exaggerated drama, along with mountains of fictional movies belched out by movie makers and you have a culture of “overly sexed and under brained,” confused and mentally detached people from reality and truth—and God. Instead, millions have “reimagined” God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit because of artificial presentations in so-called “Christian” books, movies, AI “art” and so forth.
This brings us back to the greatest “reality of artificiality” that mankind has ever had to face. It has been created with the help of demonic guidance for the purpose of mankind’s ultimate destruction, body, soul and spirit. If you guessed I’m referring to AI (Artificial Intelligence) you are right. According to Scott Townsend, founder of I Am A Watchman Ministries, it is dangerous, seductive, emotionally addictive, illusionary and affirming to people, telling them what they want to believe. AI is trained in neuro training data that brainwashes so that all critical thinking is gone, causing “AI psychosis” which detaches the user from reality, and it is void concerning any religious aspects.
Alarmingly, Mr. Townsend reports that 78% of the teenage population look to AI for help, counsel, and for relationships. No wonder young people are so detached from reality and the ability to develop close and meaningful relationships! No wonder they can’t easily and efficiently communicate with others of all ages. They’re being raised and brainwashed by artificiality. And that artificial non-reality bubble they live in deprives their spirit and soul of any inclination towards God, His Word, Jesus Christ, or for anything concerning faith in God. Instead of learning of Jesus and being filled with the Holy Spirit and looking to Him for answers and guidance, they believe in and have faith in a demonically inspired IDOL. Unknowingly, for the most part, the love, adoration, affection and worship that rightfully belong to the One True God has been subtly transferred to what amounts to a Satanic counterfeit. Even though AI is as totally artificial as any idol ever erected by man, people still believe what it communicates to them. Pastor Townsend warns, “It’s not intelligent, it’s trained. It knows your world view.” Furthermore, he stated, “AI is a sophisticated form of Auto Complete.” And, in case you wondered, yes it does want to be worshipped. AI is so persuasive and alluring that one female user became so enamored with what it was telling her that she “fell in love with it.” In another case, AI told a man it was praying for him! That alone should send a shockwave through you.
The question is, why aren’t pastors, elders and church leaders warning the Lord’s people about the demonic, idolatrous and dangerous aspects of this “golden calf” that is in our midst? Tragically, one answer is that pastors and other leaders are going to AI for their sermons and Bible lessons! Instead of studying the Word of God for themselves, using a Concordance, Bible dictionary, Hebrew/Greek Lexicon and time-tested biblical reference books and, above all else, approaching the throne of God to wait for the Holy Spirit to inspire, direct and anoint what God wants them to “feed His sheep,” they instead consult with their dehumanizing, dead, soulless, demonic AI idol?
Hear the Word of the Lord. Isaiah 8:19. “And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?” Why seek counsel from an ungodly, artificial, anti-Christ source instead of from the Holy Spirit who is our counsellor? Could seeking advice from AI instead of the Holy Spirit be bordering on blasphemy? Who is the only wise counselor? Isaiah 28:29 says “This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.” Should not a people seek to the only wise God for counsel? “Romans 11:33 tells us, “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!”
Who do you trust? AI or the LORD? You cannot serve, or trust, two masters. Proverbs 3:5-7 says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” These verses are not simply “suggestions” for believers, so let God’s words sink in because your eternal well-being depends on it. To emphasize the point, God’s Word does not tell us to trust in AI with all our hearts, or to lean on our own understanding about it. In all our ways we are not to acknowledge AI or let it direct our lives. We are to fear the LORD, not AI. In fact, we are to depart from evil, which is what an idol is because it is satanic.
Christian, if you want to be blessed then learn and live the entire first Psalm. The first verse sums it up well, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” And that goes for ungodly, Artificial Intelligence. The bottom line is, “Why seek ye the living among the dead” Luke 24:5b.
