There is a certain convenient platitude that is often used like a headlock on concerned people who question the ridiculous teachings that are invading the church. It goes like this; “Chew up the meat and spit out the bones.”
The person who confidently uses this platitude often leaves the impression that they are all-wise and are able to separate the good from the bad. It also shows a politically correct tolerance towards everyone, including wolves and vultures who seek to destroy the souls of man.
The truth is this statement does not represent godly wisdom but a foolish, fleshly cop-out. It is a statement that subtly and arrogantly claims tolerance. But in reality it hides behind darkness while holding on to ignorance.
The destructive subtle error that is spreading throughout the church is not a matter of “spiting out the bones” in order to avoid destruction. This error is poisonous by nature. Poison is not passed into a person’s system by way of bad bones but by way of bad meat.
Spiritual poison slowly closes down a person’s spiritual senses causing spiritual dullness. This prevents the victim from discerning what is actually happening to them. Eventually it will pervert truth and mock those who dare to love and stand for it.
The Word of God clearly warns that we are not to partake of any form of darkness in order to get “good things” out of it. In fact, we are to come out and be separate from everything that is not of God because there can be no godly agreement (1 Corinthians 6:14-18).
I am often shocked at the arrogance of Christians who think they are able to wade through deception in order to find some good when the Bible rebukes such pride and commands differently. To ignore such scriptural warnings is to play a dangerous game of Russian Roulette with your soul. I can guarantee you, you will not win in the end!
If you use this statement as a platitude to justify pride, or hear someone else use it in this way, you can deduct four things: 1) spiritual dullness; 2) mockery of truth because of superiority and delusion; 3) lack of love for the truth; and 4) misunderstanding the character of God for He is holy and will not tolerant any form of deception or darkness.
If you have such an attitude, you need to repent of your pride for God is resisting you. If you encounter such a person, the Apostle Paul gave this advice, “But if any man be ignorant, let him be (or remain) ignorant” (1 Corinthians 14:38). (My words in parenthesis.)
